As 2024 draws to a close, we present A Letter From Our Director.
I want to take a moment to reflect on an incredible year and extend my heartfelt thanks to our valued staff, customers, suppliers, and partners. This year has been one of hard work, growth, and meaningful connections, and we couldn’t have done it without your unwavering support.
In 2024, we had the privilege of supporting Boot Out Breast Cancer, a cause close to our hearts and chaired by the true force that is Debbie Dowie. From the uplifting Ladies Lunch in March to the spectacular Parisian Ball in September, it was an honour to play a part in their incredible efforts. Together, we helped raise an astonishing £76,000 in one night, a testament to the power of community and collective generosity. BOBC is one of the only charities that give 100% to the cause and since its inception in 2010 has raised over £1,750,000.
Charity begins with the first step
Giving back to our local community and supporting charities is about making a positive impact and ensuring we contribute to the world around us. We extend our love to supporting the local Destitute Animal Shelter in Bolton (destituteanimalshelter.org.uk), which is another charity close to our hearts. Whilst maintaining their website, we update and promote all the beautiful cats and dogs who need forever homes.
Homeless Aid UK (homelessaid.org.uk) also work tirelessly to help those individuals and families in need through hard work and daily dedication. The team headed by Billa Ahmed, are out in all weathers making sure people are fed and have a warm, dry change of clothes, and most importantly a listening ear for those who need additional help. Whilst we look after their website, the true heroes are those on the ground every day!
Andy Darcy Theo - the author to watch!
In 2024 we also had the honour of helping Andy Darcy Theo launch his website (andydarcytheo.com) for his new book, “The Light That Blinds Us”, with character illustrations by our very own Alex Forrest. He is all set to launch his epic sequel, “The Dark That Hides Us”, in April 2025 which we are very excited about and wish him every success!
The rise of women in business
This year, we’ve also celebrated the remarkable rise of women in business. It’s inspiring to see talented, driven women taking centre stage across industries, breaking barriers, and setting new standards. We have welcomed Veronica at Verocore Business Solutions (verocore.co.uk), Samantha at Simple Strong Nutrition (simplestrongnutrition.com), and Dr.Helen Wall (tvhealthdoctor.com) to name a few and we are looking forward to what the new year will bring.
Another client who is making waves is Liz Taylor at DYT Choir (dytchoir.co.uk)! Their choir has been spreading joy and charitable support around the Northwest for over 10 years and during that time Web HD has grown with them by introducing a membership club on their website with monthly subscriptions, and an events management system. I also support them personally by attending their events and snapping photographs! I know that great things are in store for the DYT Choir in 2025 – their voices just keep getting better and better.
Working alongside a powerhouse with an MBE
After 30 years of being in the internet business, it’s rare to find relationships that span the course, but it wouldn’t be a year in review if I didn’t mention the one woman who has lasted the test of time with me – Sital Raja-Arjan MBE, the boss lady of House of Raja’s Indian Superstore in Bolton (memsaab.co.uk). We first met back in the 90’s when tech was in its infancy, but Sital and I have supported each other in business through the years and even now when a web update is needed, an idea needs to be nurtured, or a charity needs support, she will call on me! Thank you Sital for your amazing work, not only with me, but for everything you have done for the community as a whole.
As we look ahead to 2025, I am filled with gratitude and optimism. We remain committed to working hard, building strong relationships, and supporting causes that matter. Thank you for being part of our journey. Here’s to another year of success, collaboration, and making a difference together.
